Martin Parr

Martin Parr (*1952) studierte von 1970 bis 1973 Fotografie an der Manchester Polytechnic und gehört heute zu den wichtigsten und einflussreichsten Fotografen Großbritanniens. Bereits 1990 wurden seine Arbeiten in der Ausstellung "British Photography. From The Thatcher Years" im Museum of Modern Art in New York ausgestellt. Seit 1994 ist er Mitglied bei "Magnum Photos". In Bristol gründete er 2017 die Martin Parr Foundation.

 

In der Sammlung des IKS PHOTO befinden sich zahlreiche Werke aus den Serien "Bad Weather. 1977-82", "The Last Resort, New Brighton, England. 1983-85", "The Cost of Living.1986-88" und "Kleingärtner, 2018".
